Work with shared datasets
Dataset owners can share datasets with other users by email. This allows collaboration without handing over full structural control.

Why this boundary is useful
It keeps the schema stable while still allowing data-entry work and analytical review by collaborators.
The current guidance is explicit: the Edit Structure action should not appear for users accessing a dataset through sharing only.
When to use shared datasets
- Department-level data collection
- Shared operations logs
- Multi-user updates to a common register
- Controlled access for assistants or reviewers
