Design public-facing forms clearly.
Public form content
- Form title and description
- Dataset fields that are allowed for public entry
- Required field indicators
- CAPTCHA where enabled
- Submission confirmation message
Good form design
- Ask only for necessary information
- Use simple labels
- Place important instructions at the top
- Test the form before sharing publicly
- Avoid collecting sensitive personal data unless necessary
Disable public form
Turn off Public Data when submissions are no longer required.
